Wooden wedding rings

For some I think the wood represents for them a connection to the natural world. It mirrors their desire that their relationship be alive and growing. In spite of the coatings and the care with which your ring will be made, it simply wont hold up to repeated soakings in the shower or as you wash your hands repeatedly. One couple I know has a pair of inexpensive substitute rings that they wear as their wedding rings when they will be in water, or doing something that requires them to wet their hands over and over.
